The drink
What is Wilfred’s 0.0 Aperitif?
Wilfred's Aperitif is a 0.0% alcohol British aperitif made from natural botanical distillates and extracts of bitter orange, rosemary, rhubarb and clove. It comes in a 500ml bottle and is designed to be served over ice with tonic as a non-alcoholic spritz.
What does Wilfred's taste like?
Zesty bitter orange and aromatic rosemary lead, with tart rhubarb and a warm note of clove beneath. Bittersweet and grown-up, with a clean, dry finish carried by gentian's gentle bitterness. Light-bodied and refreshing, elegantly complex alcohol-free drink. Perfect in a spritz, and other complex cocktails.
Is Wilfred's really alcohol-free?
Yes. Wilfred's Aperitif is 0.0% ABV.

Wilfred's is made in the UK. The recipe was developed by founder Chris Wilfred Hughes, who spent 18 months and more than 100 recipes getting it just right for the perfect spritz.
Why is it called Wilfred’s?
Wilfred’s makes a truly British spritz and the drink has strong family ties in both the recipe and the name. Simply put, the drink is named after the person who created it: founder Chris Wilfred Hughes, he himself named after his great-grandfather Wilfred.
What awards has Wilfred's won?
The Independent named Wilfred's the Best Alcohol-Free Spritz in its Indy Best reviews in 2026, and Wilfred's has featured in The New York Times' best non-alcoholic drinks guide five years running, most recently in January 2026. Nutrition and dietary
How many calories are in Wilfred's?
A 50ml serving contains 23 calories (i.e. 45kcal per 100ml).
A Wilfred’s Spritz contains 46 calories – 23kcal from 50ml of Wilfred’s and 23kcal from 150ml of light tonic.
Does Wilfred's contain sugar?
Yes. 10.1g per 100ml, or around 5g in a 50ml serving. In a spritz with a light tonic that's roughly 7g per drink. We use real sugar rather than sweeteners because it's what gives Wilfred's its body and balance — artificial sweeteners flatten the bitterness the whole drink is built around, and negatively impact flavour. Wilfred's is free from artificial sweeteners, flavours and colours.
Is Wilfred's vegan and gluten-free?
Yes to both. Wilfred's is vegan-friendly and gluten-free.
Can I drink Wilfred's while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Wilfred's Aperitif is 0.0% ABV and contains no alcohol, and many of our customers drink it while pregnant or breastfeeding. However if you have any concerns about anything in the ingredients list, please consult your doctor or another healthcare professional.
